The Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011 left each and every Japanese person with an important assignment. Words such as “unprecedented” and “beyond expectation” have been in heavy circulation, but simply put, many children have lost their parents in this senseless tragedy. These same children are beginning to abandon their dreams and wishes for higher education.
We at KAGOME CO.,LTD, Calbee Foods Co.,Ltd., and ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd. truly believe that these children are a vital part of Japan’s recovery, and wish for them to grow up without abandoning those dreams and wishes. We plan to provide these children with the support needed to continue their education so they might bring help to their hometowns. With this goal in mind, we have established “The Michinoku Future Fund.”
Though this will be a long endeavor, spanning a quarter of a century until
the last student has graduated from college, we hope to share this effort
with an ever-expanding support circle of people who share our vision.
